TCDD Modernization Department 135th km 2nd line High Speed Railway Project between Karaman and Ulukışla.

Purpose of the Work: The 72km part of the project between 102+000-174+000 is Karaman; The remaining part between 174+000-218+000 is Konya; The part between 218+000-232+000 is located within the borders of Niğde province. Within the entire 135km line, a 93km section will be doubled next to the existing line, and the remaining 37km section will be a variant area. It is aimed to ensure fast and comfortable access of passenger trains departing from Ankara to the Mediterranean region with the High Speed Train, and to provide rapid transportation of Mersin Port-connected freight trains to the Konya Karaman region.

Scope of Work:

- All infrastructure, road, river engineering, bridges, culverts, and lining designs of two tunnels, one 2.4km long and the other 4.6km long, along the 135 km line.

- Making both railway and road traffic safe and comfortable by closing all existing level crossings and replacing them with underpasses and overpasses.

- Increasing the cruising time and comfort by increasing the current speed from 70-90 km/h to 200 km/h.
